This year I would like to show my Liberty Dear Jane. A few of you have already followed the making of. I did a smaller version, with only 81 blocks and a simple border.
I quilted by hand with the QAYG method. The back is made with the same fabric used for the front block.
Some stats:
Beginning: 14th May 2013
Finishing: 12th May 2014
Number of Blocks: 81
Numer of fabric pieces: 1533

It is a hazard, but my last post was exatly 4 month ago. During that time I've done lots of other things. Today it is a very warm and sunny Sunday, while I'm waiting for more freshness to work in my kitchen garden, I decided that it was time to finish the quilt borders. Here they are with mitered corners, front and back. Now I just have to insert a 2 1/2" baking strip and quilt.
And here it is...all the blocks are pieced together, I really love my new Dear Jane. Next week I'll add just a 3" plain border... but with mitered corners...my first try.
Six rows joined together. I already joined two more and hopefully will be able to do the last section today or tomorrow. I'm still not sure about the border. I think first I'll add the 1" sashing all around and then pick up one of the darker fabrics to sew around.
